Customize Your Boot

Know Your Options…Ride in Style!

Dehner craftsmen want to make your boots according to your individual needs and desires. When filling out your order form, please take the time to tell us in minute detail the options you want for your custom made boots. To help you decide, we have listed many of our popular customizations below.

Full Lined

Lined Completely with a full grain supple leather. Keeps it’s shape better and longer than an un-lined boot.

Cuff Lined

The boot is lined only around the top and down the back. This is a very soft and easily broken in boot, however it will not retain its leg shape.

Front and Back Lined

A compromise of the first two options. After fully lining the boot, an oval section on each side of the boot is removed. This allows for close contact with the horse. A soft, easily broken in boot with enough leather in the front and back to allow the boot to hold a better shape.

Klingfast Lined

Another compromise. In this case the boot is fully lined and an oval piece is removed from the inside of the leg only. This allows for a full lined appearance on the outside of the leg while giving close contact with the horse on the inside. Care must be taken so that an uneven break at the ankle does not occur.

Dressage Wishbone Lined

A great combination of heavy cowhide lining in the entire upper leg and elk lining the ankle eliminates much of the initial stiffness and allows the boots to keep their original shape.

Regular Tops

A difference of one inch between the horse-side height of the boot and the outside. A very common choice.

Spanish Tops

The normal difference between the horse-side height of the boot and the outside is one inch. The height difference with Spanish Tops is one and one half inches, giving a longer look to the outside of the boot without affecting the height, where the leg must bend. This top comes standard on all tall stock riding boots.

Italian Tops

Similar to the Spanish Tops, but the with a difference of two and one quarter inches.

Olympic Tops

The flair of this top is towards the front of the knee in lieu of on the side of the leg as on the Spanish Tops. Be sure the height of the boots is adequate as they will appear short in the back of the knee.
